Martina Sakova is a German-Slovak creative producer and director. She was born in former Czechoslovakia and lives in Berlin since 2003. She studied film directing at the Film Academy in Bratislava and at the Babelsberg Film University in Berlin. In 2007 she founded film production company Projector23 in Berlin and in 2020 WhatIf Films in Bratislava. She worked on animated shorts, fiction and documentary films for RTVS, CT, HBO Europe as well as image films for numerous NGO´s. Her last feature film Summer Rebels was theatrically released in Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Austria, acquired by RTVS, NPO, NETFLIX and screened in competition at over 30 film festivals worldwide a.o. in Sao Paolo, Giffoni, Zlin, Black Nights Tallinn, Cinekid, Goa, Busan and Thessaloniki. Summer Rebels was preselected for the German Film Award ´21 and won the German Film Critics ́Award ´21. Her new feature film project LOVEBOTS was selected for eQuinoxe Europe ´23 and preselected for the German Script Award ´24.
